Custom Pens - "Wood is Good" - KLEWGAUS157FP - "Ankh-Udja-Seneb"
About our Pens
Custom pens use a pre-made nib (or nib unit) and everything else is handcrafted. Creating our bespoke pens involves -mainly- the use of a metal and a wood lathe to shape the parts of the writing instruments: Grip section, Body, and Cap. To make these parts we choose materials such as wood, ebonite, stones, metals and acrylics.
About this piece:
"Ankh Udja Seneb" is an ancient Egyptian phrase meaning "life, prosperity, and health". It's often used as a blessing or wish, particularly in Kemetic (ancient Egyptian) contexts. The phrase is composed of three words: "ankh" (life), "udja" (prosperity, wholeness), and "seneb" (health, well-being).

*The lost wax technique, also known as investment casting, is a metal casting process where a wax model is encased in a mold, which is then heated to melt away the wax, leaving a cavity that molten metal is poured into. This ancient method allows for the creation of intricate and detailed metal sculptures, jewelry, and precision parts.
*²This ancient wood was discovered (1992) in Roeselare -Belgium- in an historical excavation. This precious wood goes back to the Roman times ("Civitas Menapiorum" 100-300 AD) and belonged to waterwells found on the site.
